If everyone in the world were to consume natural resources and generate carbon dioxide at the rate we do in the UK, we’d need three planets to support us!

The mission of WWF is to stop the degradation of the planet’s natural environment and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by:

·         Conserving the world’s biological diversity

·         Ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable

·         Reducing pollution and wasteful consumption

WWF works to….

·         Bring about change in how people and organisations think, learn and act in relation to the world around us and what we consume by helping local authorities, schools, communities and business to work together to reduce their impact on the planet.

·         Persuade UK government to set strict carbon dioxide emission limits on the power sector and increase renewable energy capacity.

·         Secure the future of the world’s forests through protection, restoration and management, and improve the livelihoods of people who depend on forests.

·         Rejuvenate three of the world’s major river basins and influence river and wetland management legislation.

We run conservation programmes in around 100 countries
If everyone in the world consumed natural resources at the same rate as people in the UK we would need three planets
