World Cancer Research Fund (WCRF UK)
registered charity no:1000739

Did you know about a third of cancers can be prevented through following a healthy diet, regular physical activity and maintenance of a healthy weight?

WCRF UK’s goal is "Stopping cancer before it starts" and is the principal UK Charity that focuses solely on the prevention of cancer through the promotion of healthy diets and nutrition, physical activity and weight management. Our mission is to increase awareness of cancer as it relates to food, nutrition and other lifestyle factors and to prevent cancer throughout the UK and worldwide.

Every phone you recycle on behalf of WCRF UK will be helping to fund innovative scientific research into cancer prevention as well as an extensive national education programme.

For example:

  • £5 would enable us to place 40 of our life-saving cancer prevention leaflets in doctors' surgeries waiting rooms.
  • £60 would mean that a class of primary school children could receive a copy of our healthy eating newsletter, the ‘Great Grub Club’. An interactive magazine is aimed at 4-7 year olds which teaches them about healthy eating and physical activity in a fun way. Find out more about this publication at www.greatgrubclub.com
  • £150 could pay for an expert team, at one of our research projects, to carry out one day of life saving.

WCRF UK is committed to funding cancer research and education programmes which expand our understanding of the importance of our food and lifestyle choices in the cancer process.
By spreading the good news that cancer can be prevented, WCRF UK hopes that many thousands of lives will be saved.
