Friends of the Earth’s overarching goal is to protect the planet’s life-support systems, such as a stable climate, healthy forests, reliable food supplies and clean water, so that everyone gets their fair share of the Earth’s riches now and in the future.
Friends of the Earth is a campaigning charity. Our campaigns change the world by changing politics, because to make real and lasting changes we need governments to act on our behalf. We’re the only organisation whose main focus is involving people in taking political action together to solve the environmental problems we all face.
We have around 2 million supporters across five continents and more than 75 national organisations worldwide. We are dependent on individuals for over 90% of our income. During 2011 we are also celebrating our 40th anniversary.
